A great way to finish off August, with another Southern Right Whale mother and calf sighting on today’s tours!

Following recent reports, we headed east towards Basham Beach and found the cow and calf pair spending time just off Middleton Point.

We settled in at a respectful distance and enjoyed around 20 minutes watching mum and her youngster before leaving the pair to continue their day and heading off to complete the remainder of our Southern Ocean Adventure.

After a quieter week for whale sightings, it’s fantastic to have now encountered a mother and calf pair on consecutive days around the Port Elliot–Middleton coastline.

As we head into September and the latter part of the Southern Right Whale season, we’ll continue keeping our eyes on the horizon! 🐋
